Paul McOmber
Physician Assistant
I hale from Utah where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and worked in the allied health field as a radiology orderly, dialysis technician, Respiratory Tech and finally a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) where I enjoyed the challenges presented in adult and New Born Intensive Care.
After several years practicing as an RRT in Utah and Northern California, I entered a Physician Assistant program, and in 1992 graduated from the University of California at Davis’ PA/NP program with an emphasis in Family Practice. Soon after graduation, I started serving individuals and families in Northern California. In the fall of 1998, I “grew and wild hair” so to speak, and qualified to join the US State Department’s Medical Foreign Service, where I treated diplomats and their family members for 24 years in eight different US embassies.
In April of 2022 I retired from government employment and returned to the United States and chose beautiful Cache Valley, Utah. It is so wonderful to live and work in the United States where we enjoy some of the best health care anywhere. I like to say, “being a PA in family practice is the best job in the world!”
If I am not traveling and spending time with our 6 kids and 9 grandchildren scattered around the US, you’ll find me gardening, cooking artisan bread or hiking and taking photos of nature.
